A Bit (More) About Me #10

I’m a couple days later than usual in participating in Melanie B. Cee’s weekly “Share Your World“. I know y’all’re chewing your nails in anticipation, so here you go. You’re welcome!

Q: How can someone win a gold star with you? (i.e. win your approval and/or admiration)
A: Anyone who has an observable history of treating their fellow humans with kindness, compassion, and respect and who lacks a significant history of cruelty and/or bigotry earns my respect.

Q: If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
A: Hmm… Sleep is a rare and precious commodity for me, so I covet and enjoy every hour I get of it. I reckon if I didn’t need it I might eventually work my way around to using the extra time to read and snuggle with The Boss.

Q: Do you have a favorite type of exercise?
A: Yes.

Q: Do you sleep with a top sheet? Why or why not?
A: I sleep beneath a sheet with a comforter on top because if I get too hot, folding down the comforter but keeping the sheet pulled up keeps me sufficiently warm.

Q: What are you grateful for?
A: Many things. I’m grateful to Mel for providing this forum for sharing and connecting. I’m grateful for my family and all the emotional, logistical, and economic support they provide. I’m grateful for my job. I’m grateful for y’all, have missed you a great deal, and am glad you were here waiting for me all along. And books. Great googly moogly, I’m grateful for books. And audiobooks and a lengthy daily commute to enjoy them.

I hope y’all have a wonderful day. Take care, be well, and keep fighting the good fight!

    1. I get up at 4:30 weekdays, but my main problem is that since becoming a father then turning 35 a month later, I’m rarely able to sleep through the night. I’ve always been a light sleeper, but often these days even the sound of an owl hooting a mile away will awaken me. It’s ridiculous. Plus by the time I get the kids to bed, get lunches & the kitchen ready for the next morning’s breakfast, and spend a few minutes with The Boss, it’s usually after 10:00 or 11:00 before I hit the sack.

      1. Maybe like me you’ll catch up when you retire. I still have 10 years of catching up to do. All the other older people around me are up by 5. I have my phone turned to “do not disturb” since we’re in a different time zone. 😀

    1. I once got hired at Barnes & Noble Bookstore after the interviewing manager asked me why I wanted to work there & I told her “Because when I die & go to heaven, if it’s not a library or bookstore, I’ll just mosey on down to hell.”

      1. I am doing well, Baxter is sleep, adorable as ever, and unfortunately Bette is in pain. I wish I could do more for her. I am working on a goodreads message to you. Thanks for that bunch of likes on my blog posts.
