Mourning in America

Hello friends & fellow Bloggers.  I hope y’all’re doing well.  There’s no denying 2020’s been a difficult year, and I suspect things’ll get worse before they begin to improve.  Given the news I hear every day, I struggle mightily not to lose my composure.

Today, I saw a devastating ad on YouTube that I hope y’all will check out by clicking this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_yG_-K2MDo.  It’s called “Mourning in America”, and I probably wouldn’t’ve heard of it if Supreme Leader Trump hadn’t unleashed a barrage of enraged tweets in response to it, thereby amplifying awareness of it.

The ad is part of a series produced by The Lincoln Group, a political action committee formed by prominent national Republicans who are committed to defeating Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box in 2020 and beyond.  Please view their videos and share them.  Let’s take this opportunity to make WordPress resound with their sad truths.

Take care, be well, stay safe & sane, y’all.  Don’t forget to drop me a line.

Love,

Denny

  1. Thank you for providing the link. I watched it wondering why Trump would chose this week to end his coronavirus task force. That video shows that America needs direction from its “leader”.

  2. Today here in the San Luis Valley — which is as remote as almost any place in the US — 11 workers at a mushroom farm showed C-19 positive. That is 1/3 of the previous total of known cases. That DW in the White House has done nothing to combat this virus. We should have tests, we should have coherence (from him), the “liberate” people should not have been supported/pacified/whatever. That he and the other DWs in his palace are tested daily and so on is a testament to his lack of concern for the people in this nation who actually DO work. His rush to “open the country” is a further testament. I have never had the “pleasure” of hating anyone before in my life and there have been people who might have deserved that from me (don’t know). But now I know what it is to hate someone and wish them dead. I’m OK with it. He is truly evil and even Jesus had no sympathy for the devil.

      1. When I look at Trump, I see an evil man who’s made evil choices and is now doing evil things. Why does he? I don’t know and that’s not my problem. When I think of those kids in cages at the border, the families who are separated and suffering, followers of Trump who carry long guns into the Michigan state house, a man who thinks it’s OK to shoot a security guard because COVID-19 is a hoax, I see evil, people following the lead of an evil person.

    1. Wow, Martha, that’s some powerful rage. I refuse to hate him because that gives him more power over me than he deserves. I pity him more than anything. What must it be like to be such a pitiable, vulnerable baby at his age and with all his wealth and power. It must be a nightmare inside his head.

      1. He doesn’t have any power over me. Maybe my word should be “contempt” not hate. I don’t pity him at all. I don’t care what goes on inside his head. I also know that the ONLY thing I can do, the only action in my power, is my vote.

  3. They are not wrong. I remember us talking about Biden being the de facto Democratic choice back when there were still a million and one other candidates… ergh… another ‘between a rock and a hard place’ decision at the polls. Awful.

    1. Ain’t that the truth. It doesn’t matter though. I suspect Trump will be re-elected with an even larger share of the popular vote this year. But if I’m wrong and he isn’t, I suspect he will refuse to leave office, claiming the vote was illegitimate. I truly believe he’s trying to establish a hereditary dictatorship, and there are far too many aiding & abetting him.

Distract me with some good political news from your native South Africa, please.

      1. Hm. I think if Biden has a decent enough VP… things could go okay. But they’ll choose Kamala Harris. And it will be awful. Ha.

But maybe Justin Amash can swing enough center and center leaning republicans away from voting Trump… maybe… And Biden can stay awake long enough to… eh… not touch anyone inappropriately.

        I mean it could happen.

Oh my politics are completely #$%@. We have a one party state. Which is the absolute worst thing in a ‘democracy’. I mean in theory some one else could win… but its never going to happen.

This all despite the ANC being insanely corrupt and broadly incompetent.

You guys still have it pretty good. Despite everything.

  4. Hi! I haven’t seen you in awhile. I’m not sure why, it appears that I am still “following” you.
Anyway…I opened a tab with your link and will view it later. Thanks.

    1. Thank you, KC. You haven’t seen me because I succumbed to a writer’s block for about 2 months. I was gobsmacked by the combination of the daily bad news here then having to work from home while trying to motivate my kids to do their school work.

      1. That good 🙂 Well, good news that the number of deaths from the virus is declining but sad that 30,000 people have lost their lives. It’s sobering times and I’m grateful that I’m OK and so far all my loved ones are OK.
        Take Care 🙂
